OYORooms Review

As a working consultant for an International IT firm, I need to travel frequently between pan India offices across the major cities of India. I always search some place in the  middle of the city which is near to airport or stations. Recently I have got an opportunity to stay at OYO Rooms, Juhu Beach, Mumbai.  I think OYO rooms fit well in my requirement. It was an amazing experience. It's an absolutely comfortable & economical option for the frequent traveller to Mumbai as well as the tourist who love to explore beaches & Mumbai heritage. The hotel has a great location in the city on quiet location next to Ashok Kumar bungalow- famous Bollywood actor & its within fast walking distance of attractions, including Juhu Beach and some famous food joints.

OYO Room in Juhu, Mumbai
We have reached the OYO Property well on time, we have been asked to the check In at 2:30 pm. The supporting staff from OYO hotel were quick. We met the Nijesh from OYO Growth  team, he welcomed all the bloggers on behalf of OYO rooms & share some information on whereabouts. we checked into our rooms. After check-In the rooms, I was amazed to see the interior of rooms.
It was stylish & modern with flat screen TV. It was equipped with a master bed & a coffee table with two decent sofas. Though I  found bathroom little bit small, but one person can manage it without any major issues.

So here goes my verdict on OYO rooms Juhu:

OYO Rooms Review Summary:

Pros

  • Stylish and modern rooms with LCD TV's
  • On a main street in the city center, close to most popular attractions.
  • Buffet Breakfast with a good selection
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout.
  • Near from beaches & tourist attractions

Cons

  • The Hotel is independently owned & maintained, and the interiors can differ a little bit.
  • Bathrooms are smaller & need more space with quality sanitary.

Bottom Line:

OYO Rooms are one of the budget-friendly chains of hotels in India & caters to all kind of crowd including youth, family or working professional. But very useful for frequent travellers with the budget-friendly options. With rooms starting at Rs 999 a night, OYO offers a budget hotel stay experience that would otherwise cost twice or thrice more.It consists of  a modern environment  & less pricing than other properties in the area. The Juhu OYO property  doesn't have a fancy bar or a restaurant, but there is a plenty of nightlife nearby as its situated near Juhu, the most happening  area of Mumbai. Overall it's a good value for atmosphere & location.

OYOXplorer Campaign:

Few bloggers from all India got an opportunity to become OYOxplorer in a campaign organised by OYO Rooms. In which a one-day  blogathon was conducted in which all bloggers were asked to complete some challenges & explore the city. Below is the list of challenges which were supposed to be completed by bloggers.

My Stint as an OYOXplorer:

I really took an advantage & brought the inner Sherlock Homes outside to complete the challenges. Below are few  evidence  of whole adventure during my stint as  #OYOXplorer.

Overall I had a pleasant stay at  OYORooms & will definitely recommend to frequent travellers & working IT professionals. The  best thing of this OYO property is it's fantastic location within walking distance from Juhu beach. Please free to share your experiences at OYO rooms.

Global launch of NIVEA men deodorizer - #BanBodyOdour

Last week I was Invited for the official launch of  NIVEA men deodorizer at Four Season hotel, Mumbai. All reputed press media & few selected bloggers from Mumbai were invited for the event.
You must have noticed the video with hash tag #BanbodyOdour which trended on twitter last for few days featuring  Suresh Menon & Jose Covaco. This funny video was actually a pre-launch promotion for the product. The video actually fits the current happenings which are related to banning stuff's. The brand came up with a unique idea of promoting their product with banning odour which actually relates it the deodorants product category. Let me share my experience of global launch of Nivea Mens deodorizer.

We all reached the venue a little bit late, but before the event was about to start. Once we reached all bloggers were gathered in a media hall. The host for the event was amazing an amazing lady. She asked us to settle down before she announced the name of "Mr Animesh Gupta" A Positive Conditioning coach cum soft skill trainer  & head of training development at LimitlessEQ.com.

The event started with a fun activity in which we were divided into 5 groups randomly. Then from each group 2 people were asked to be blindfolded. Then they had  opened a covered table which was having lots of  daily routine substance & products like rose, flowers, onion, mustard etc. Remaining 3 bloggers from each group were asked each to select one product from the table & take it to the 2 members of their group. Basically, the idea was to smell different things & relate their smell to a person you know. Everyone came with some funny guesses. It was total fun.

At the end of this activity, Mr Animesh started his interactive session on lots of things which are related to our day to day conditioning which require odour management. Few key facts that he covered during the session are as per below:
  • The Scientific reason behind odour within the human body.
  • Key steps to avoid body odour.
  • How to confront someone who has body odour & make sure he addresses it in a positive way.
  • How to follow good food habits to avoid body odour & its effects.
  • How to handle a situation when someone confront you for a bad body odour.
After the interacting session on odour management, the beautiful host asked us to hold our breath as one of the dashing celebrity from Bollywood was about to hit the stage any time. There were rumours about the same in blogging the world during the sniff sniff activity. I realized that later actually it was a truth. Finally, the wait was over with the entry of " Arjun Rampal", the brand ambassador for NIVEA a model, an actor with his snazzy look. Here he was with his  dashing casual look. He started with casual interaction with bloggers on body odour & shared his experience on confronting the same with one of his close friends. Also shared his experiences on he manage bad odour while shooting outside. He also talked about his personal & professional connection with Nivea products. It was an amazing experience to share the stage with Bollywood actor. At the end, he took some Q&A from bloggers. After a short interaction, the host announced the lunch time & we all parted for lunch.

After an appetizing lunch, we all were set for the official launch of the NIVEA men deodorizer.
Mr Rakhsit harave - Managing director NIVEA India took the centre stage. He started telling us about the idea behind the origin of this product & how they tied to educate the mass with the help of social media. We were also shown the funny video on #BanBodyOdour featuring the comedian Suresh Menon which I had mentioned in the start of my post.

Post  which the mystery product was revealed by Arjun Rampal. He was kissing the tall cane on turning podium of Nivea deodorizer while media & bloggers were busy capturing the moments. I had managed to get pictures from my Lumia 1320. He talked about  his association with Nivea & also his hand on experience with new Nivea deodorizer which is launched into two flavours: Ice cool & Energy. He also added that how amazingly the deo refresh the body & protect it from bad odour.

The launch came to an end with Q & A from press & media. Few question was asked to both the gentlemen " Arjun & Mr Rakhsit". Overall It was a nice event, to be at a product launch of a well known brand is something new & exciting for me.

Reliance Capital - Bloggers Meet for #LambiInningkiTaiyari

Few pictures from event
Recently I was invited for bloggers meet in association with Reliance Capital Asset Management Ltd. & Blogadda. Few selected bloggers from Mumbai have participated in this meet to understand the requirement of retirement planning for our golden days of life.

As an IT professional working in private sector, we are never assured about our future. When I graduated from college after completing  engineering degree the whole IT market was down & the whole world was suffering from recession, whereas when I joined the engineering, Computer Science /IT was the most popular and highest paying stream. It means no one knows what is gonna happen in future. It might be possible you are earning good & feel that currently you are  financially strong. But have you ever given a second thought when you will retire from your job or work, what will be the source of your income. Those who were working in government jobs had a privilege of getting the pension, but as far as I know the government has stopped giving pension in recent years or new people who are joining their jobs.

So now it's a very important question to ask "Why we need to plan for Retirement". I certainly got the answer after attending the Reliance bloggers meet. So let me share my experience & what I understood about #LambiinningKiTaiyari after attending the event.

The event started with the introduction of bloggers & officials from RCAM: Mr. Sundeep Sikka (CEO), Mr. Himanshu Vyapak (Deputy CEO), Mr.Sharad Goel(CCO) & Mr. Ajay Jethi(CMO). After the brief introduction on agenda of the meet, the officials have played some presentation on the screen. The initial slide were consist of some facts & figures on Retirement planning.

We all need retirement planning since we…

Below are the few facts regarding the Retirement solution which were explained to us during the whole session.

About Reliance Mutual fund:
It's a one-stop Equity & Debt oriented Retirement solution.
Reliance retirement fund is an open ended notified tax saving cum pension scheme with no assured return. it has 2 schemes with separate portfolios  as per below:

Key features of the Reliance Retirement fund:

  • It comes with flexibility to manage investment which includes auto transfer to move from accumulation to distribution.
  • Unlimited switch between schemes.
  • Exit load of 1% on redemption before age 60, subject to a lock-in period of 5 Yrs.
  • Auto transfer Facility.
  • Systematic transaction: one can accumulate using both SIP & lump sump over the earning years.
  • It can also be used for systematic withdrawal plan (SWP) to use what is needed after retirement.
  • Tax benefits as per the clause (XI V)  of sub section (2) of section 80C of the income tax act, 1961, the individual investor will get tax deductions for investment up to Rs. 1.5 lakh in a Financial Year.
This plan is an Ideal way to Invest for Young as well as those who are nearing retirement.
The below graph shows that how much one can make after investing Rs 5000/ month for 30 years with ROI of 15 % which is almost double what we get in traditional fix deposits.

At the end of the session, we had been asked to spread the word on retirement planning. I have done my part. Also, as I am aware of retirement planning my next step will be too safe my retirement days.
Overall it was an interesting meet with lots discussions & outputs on investment & financial planning.
